The Kentucky Craft MarketThe Kentucky Arts Council showcase event, showcasing the best of visual arts and crafts from the Commonwealth, will return to the Alltech Arena at Kentucky Horse Park on March 12-13 in Lexington.
“We are delighted to roll out The Market after being on hiatus for the past two years,” said Chris Cathers, executive director of the arts council. “Given the success of the event in 2019 at the Alltech Arena, it was easy to decide to host the event there again, and we know that guests will respond with as much enthusiasm to this venue as three years ago.”
The market will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 12 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 13. The event will be open only to registered wholesale buyers for Trade Only Day, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 11.
More than 80 of Kentucky’s top visual and craft artists, all members of the arts council’s Kentucky Crafted program, will display and sell their work at the market.
For 2022, there will be no admission fee to the Kentucky Crafted Market. Instead, the Kentucky Arts Council will collect voluntary cash donations to the Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund. A collection box will be available onsite at Alltech Arena on event days, or visitors can donate online at the Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund website.
“As this is the first market we’ve held since 2019, we wanted to create a tangible way to welcome our long-time customers and give new visitors to the market an easy way to see what this special event is all about. “, Cathers said. “We hope people will take the money they would have spent on a ticket from the market and donate it to the Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund, but donations of any amount will be greatly appreciated.”
